With over 40 years’ worth of experience working in and on behalf of private schools, John has served as a Catholic elementary and high school principal and as the superintendent of schools for the Roman Catholic dioceses of Richmond (Virginia) and Wheeling-Charleston (West Virginia). Currently the Executive Director of the Indiana Non-Public Education Association (INPEA), John has helped to secure in Indiana the passage of both the Tax Credit Scholarship Program in 2009 and the Choice Scholarship (Voucher) Legislation in 2011. In addition, he has worked with state departments of education throughout the country to ensure that private school students can equitably participate in services that are offered under the IDEA and ESSA. A past inaugural member of the National Advisory Board for Catapult Learning and a present member of Center for Vibrant Schools Board of Visitors at Marian University, John holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and a master’s degree from Marshall University.
