The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) provide to private school students (and their teachers) federally-funded education services.
Additionally, some states provide to private school students access to state-funded special education programs.
Over the past decades, untold numbers of private school students have been unable to access their equitable share of federally-funded (and, where applicable, state-funded) education services. This has blunted these same schools’ capacities to live up to their missions, retain their enrollments, and offer compelling educational alternatives.
Educating private school leaders and families about how these laws work and proactively collaborating with public school officials on our clients’ behalf are among the ways that ADAC Advocacy helps its clients to ensure that their students are equitably participating in these publicly-funded services.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
