ADAC Advocacy empowers private school communities to attain from the child find process of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) positive determination(s) of IDEA eligibility.
We work with leaders of private schools and private school networks to:
- equip educators and parents with the skills needed to navigate the Child Find process to secure and maximize IDEA-funded services for students with disabilities
- prepare for eligibility determination meetings by establishing child-specific and strong, evidence-based cases for the eligibility of individual students
- provide strategies that may mitigate and resolve disagreements between individual students/families and LEAs about eligibility
- where applicable, coach private school personnel to attain for individual students positive determination of and resolve with LEAs any disagreements regarding eligibility for services that are provided via state-funded special education programs
- interpret, support, and execute via engagement with providers of professional development services the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
